JAMIE MOLNAR COUNSELING

Jamie Molnar, LMHC, RYT, QS
Founder, Lead Therapist

My Approach:

I believe we all have the internal strength, desire, and ability to be happy. As we grow older, however, we get distracted, and lose touch with our inner spirit and true, authentic selves. We become tired, disconnected, and stuck. Sometimes we even seek happiness in the wrong places or people and get stuck in unhealthy patterns.

The good news: Each and every one of us, with the right guidance, can change! We can break out of the old ways, release unhealthy behaviors, and find peace, joy, and fulfillment.

Through a unique combination of the ancient traditions of yoga philosophy and modern day applied psychology principles, I am able to provide you with an empathic and specialized counseling experience. By drawing from mind-body-spirit approaches, I can help you find a more peaceful, healthy, and happy way of life.

About Me:

I have over 13 years of experience in working with clients on concerns related to anxiety, depression, life transitions, and trauma. I am an LGBTQIA ally and work with same-sex couples.

I have worked in higher education as both a staff therapist and an administrator and am very familiar with the issues facing college students today.

And as a cancer survivor, I have a deep understanding of how trauma changes your life and the ways you wish it wouldn't, and I can help you make the transition into healing.

I am a Registered Yoga Teacher and am passionate about sharing the gifts of yoga with my clients through Yoga Psychotherapy. This can be done by incorporating yogic practices into therapy sessions. While my yoga training informs my therapeutic approach, this does not mean that you have to do yoga when you work with me. That is your choice to make as we work together to develop your goals.

Information on How I Use Yoga in My Work:

It is important to first note that clients make the choice on when and how to incorporate yoga into their counseling experience, and this is something we can discuss prior to making a decision.

I have been practicing yoga since 2001 and became certified to teach in 2012. I believe that yoga and counseling complement each other wonderfully, and I am excited to be able to incorporate this into the work that I do with my clients.

Yoga is an ancient healing practice that provides many benefits on the path to self-discovery.

Here are some ways in which I can offer this beautiful practice to my clients:

  • Breathing techniques

  • Yoga philosophy that applies to current emotional, physical, and mental well-being

  • Meditation practices

  • Mindfulness techniques

  • Beginning counseling sessions with breathing, meditation, or postures

  • Resources and recommended readings

  • Guided meditations to use at home

  • Specific postures that could be helpful for use at home

  • Workshops

  • Individual yoga sessions related to therapy goals

Kate Daigle, MA, CCTP
Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern

My Approach:

I recently graduated from USF with a Masters in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling with a focus in Marriage and Family Counseling. Along with this focus, I have experience working with Grief and Trauma. These areas are my counseling passion. I have seen clients learn to adapt to the experience of immense grief and believe there is a way to live peacefully and joyfully despite tremendous adversity.

I am currently pursuing certifications in Holistic Nutrition and Health and Wellness. I strongly believe that to address and concerns with mental health you have to address the whole person. That being said, I hope to soon be able to incorporate these certifications into my counseling practice.

Counseling is a marathon, not a sprint, and I hope to be part of that journey for anyone who is willing and ready to do the work. We are all unique, which is why I believe that there are many ways to approach counseling. While I like to meet clients where they are mentally, spiritually, and emotionally, I will also push clients to explore themselves through mindfulness-based practices, nutrition and healthy lifestyle changes.

About Me:

For the past two years I have been working within the criminal justice system in forensic therapy. This experience has provided me with the opportunity to work with a range of substance use and mental health issues, requiring me to help clients understand their motivation for change. Because of this experience, I have a good understanding of how larger systems may play a role in an individual’s mental health.
